Release Manager (Full-Time & Permanent)

Project management and coordination of system change requests impacting the production system, in accordance with documented change management procedures.
System change scope may include application development, data base updates, package updates, hardware changes, RPA, and security changes
Manage multiple simultaneous change requests within a monthly release as well as multiple monthly releases.
Manage risks and resolves issues that affect release scope, scheduling, and quality.

Manage multiple simultaneous change requests within a monthly release.
Follow Dept of Education System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) Management processes – requirements through customer approval of post implementation validation (PIV) artifacts.
Measure and monitor progress to ensure releases are delivered on time and within budget, and that they meet or exceed expectations.
Coordinate release content and effort based on the change request and service request backlog, pending service requests, third party applications, or operating system updates.
Communicate to stakeholders all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes.
Conduct required reviews including:
Integrated Baseline Review (IBR)
System Requirements Review (BRR/SRR)
Detailed Design Review (CDR)
Test Readiness Review (TRR)
Internal Readiness Review / Business Go/No-Go reviews
Coordinate the delivery of SDLC documentation as required including:
Release Project Charter
Technical Solution Document (TSD)
Release Validation Package (RVP)
Lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment Plans and checklists.
Support environment utilization planning.
Strong client relationship skills, interfacing with multiple levels within the Department of Education.
Coordination with client (Dept of Ed.) teams for their portions of the SDLC (requirements, testing, approval, etc.)
Coordination with all Maximus team participants in the SDLC including architecture, security business operations, infrastructure, requirements development, testing, configuration management, quality, risk/issue management and Maximus Federal and Maximus Corporate functions.
Provide direction to team members and resolves problems in a timely and professional manner.
Ability to motivate and manage teams not reporting to you, to meet challenging deliverables and deadlines.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment balancing multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities.
Oversee other ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned by management.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
2-6 years of previous release and/or project management experience, (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred)
8-10 years of experience in information systems operations environment in systems analysis or development
Formal training in project management practices preferred
Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must
General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office expert level knowledge of Excel, working Knowledge of Access
