Summary:

The Infrastructure Services Manager manages the overall delivery for the end-to-end infrastructure operations and engineering services. The Services Lead works with Software Engineering and product leadership teams to manage delivery of our infrastructure services (Compute, Storage, Backup, Web App, Cloud, Converged tech, Data Centre ops, databases, Network etc). The Infrastructure Services manager manages an integrated team of Cloud Engineers to ensure superior levels of customer satisfaction for our clients. The Services Lead manages the teams based on organizational goals while managing the day-to-day delivery and ensuring service uptime. Serves as the primary point of contact to both internal and external stakeholders regarding overall and day-to[1]day service delivery. The successful candidate should come from a Technical / Operations support environment for a managed infrastructure or cloud-based solution provider.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the local production operations team and overall leadership support to the full distributed operations organisation, providing mentoring and support to team members as necessary.
  • Ensure that appropriate incidents (and problems) are correctly managed through to resolution, ensuring their referral and escalation to other resolver teams as required and within the defined service levels.
  • Work closely with the head of production operations to ensure continuity of service delivery and operation, and supplier management.
  • Manage action plans relating to security incidents including testing, initiating actions when flagged, ensuring liaison with other parties (internal and external) as necessary.
  • Review and ensure execution of plans for disaster recovery and business continuity as required (including periodic testing)
  • Ensure strong working relationships with other areas of the business contributing to the delivery of service to customers, notably DevOps, product management, development, and support.
  • Ensure support for culture of continuous improvement, including identifying areas for potential improved automation and feeding back to relevant teams.
  • Management reporting as necessary.
  • Ensure the overall delivery of a quality operational service to customers.

Skills:

  • Have a minimum of 8 years in a technical and operations support environment for a managed infrastructure or cloud-based solution provider operating within the regulated financial community.
  • Strong knowledge of public cloud architecture (preferably AWS)
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills, with an ability to communicate in non-technical terms to non-technical people.
  • Excellent experience of leading & developing distributed teams across multiple time-zones and different jurisdictions
  • Good understanding of financial regulatory reporting practices
  • Understanding of tools managing the cloud environment, including sysadmin skills and experience of writing scripts in an administrative language
  • Good supervisory skills and a familiarity with team management, an attention to quality and a desire for improvement
  • Excellent awareness of security and confidentiality issues and experience of identifying security vulnerabilities
